Laura Dundovic took the crown as Miss Universe Australia 2008.. from news.com.au -

Laura Dundovic, 21, beat 28 other hopefuls from across the country to take out the title - the same one that launched Jennifer Hawkins’s career four years ago.

She attributed the win to her supportive family and boyfriend - who were all in the audience - and hard work.
“I have always worked hard at what I do and that probably paid off tonight,” Dundovic said.

BEIJING, May 12 — A powerful earthquake hit central China on Monday, killing at least 8,500 and injuring 10,000 others as schools and other buildings collapsed throughout Sichuan province.

The New China News Agency said local disaster relief officials estimated as many as 3,000 had died in Beichuan, near the quake’s epicenter, and that perhaps 80 percent of the buildings in that jurisdiction had collapsed.

The federation posted a short message on their website yesterday saying: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Diva Torrie Wilson as of today. “We wish her all the best in all her future endeavours.”

It follows Torrie’s confession last month that she can no longer compete.

In a blog on her MySpace site the gorgeous grappler stated: “I have been told by two back surgeons that I should never set foot in a wrestling ring again if I want to be moving around in a few years on my own.
