The MusiCares Foundation took time to honor the legendary queen of soul, Aretha Franklin, as its Person of the Year. Lady Soul was recogized for her achievements as a musician and for her philanthropic work in the Detroit area. Of course the stars turned out as well to pay tribute, like Ne-yo, who was nominated for five Grammys and won one for best contemporary R&B album.
